New DSC certificate with a refresh icon showing a renewed certificate that must be registered again

A renewed DSC is a new certificate, not an extension of the old one. Portals still remember the old certificate, so signing fails until you register the new one.

Steps after renewal

  1. Open your token utility and confirm the new certificate appears with the new validity dates.
  2. On each portal (GST, MCA, Income Tax and others) remove the old DSC registration.
  3. Restart your computer and plug in the token.
  4. Start the signer utility as administrator and register the new certificate.
  5. Log out and log in again before signing.

If the new certificate is not on the token

The download may not have completed. Contact the provider with the order details. Do not format the token.
