MCA V3 portal browser window with a Sign with DSC button and a green tick

MCA e-forms must be signed with the DSC of the director, company secretary or other authorised signatory. When signing fails on the MCA21 V3 portal, the reason is usually the signer program, the browser or the certificate itself.

Check the basics first

Fix signing problems

  1. Install the signer utility the portal asks you to download and run it as administrator.
  2. Use Chrome or Edge, allow pop-ups and downloads for the MCA portal.
  3. When the certificate list appears, select your signing certificate and enter the token PIN.
  4. If the certificate list is empty, close the browser, restart the signer, reconnect the token and try again.

Director DSC not linked to DIN

Directors should keep the same name and PAN on their DSC as on their DIN record. A name mismatch can cause signing to be rejected.

After you renew

Update the DSC details in your profile and make sure the form uses the newer certificate. Details are in our renewal guide.
